Stretch mark - Prevention
Stretch mark - Prevention

The causes of stretch marks: Genetic predisposition, hormonal changes, pregnancy and the ups and downs of sudden weight are key factors in triggering the appearance of unsightly stretch marks.

What are those streaky lines?

The streaks are small breaks in the skin that can be seen in its initial stage as Stretch marks in a pink tone forming scars / marks elongated by different areas of the body, usually appear more frequently in the breasts, hips, buttocks and thighs.

This appearance is usually given by an excessive stretching of the skin due to sharp ups and downs of weight with a higher incidence in lighter colored skin. In pregnancy and puberty, this factor binds to the increased level of estrogen causing an inflammation of the skin accompanied by a dilation of blood vessels.

Prevention of stretch marks

As prevention it is necessary to use the power emollient (moisturizer) lotions to increase the elasticity of the skin.

The most effective formulas contain a combination of Aloe Vera Gel, Sunflower Oil, Green Tea Extract, and the Rose Hip Oil (Certified Organic), on which is demonstrated its beneficial effects on the dermis, hydrates in depth, preventing wrinkles and removing stains Scars and effective manner.

The massage

Apply moisturizer on the scars before and after brings significant benefits, as it stimulates the circulation and distributes collagen in a uniform manner, resulting in a less obvious scar. Thus, the chosen product should always be applied with a gentle massage until its complete absorption.

Next we will introduce a great way to reduce stretchmarks that are more permanent.
Body acne and how to treat it.

Why do I have body acne and what is the best way to treat it?

Body acne can appear  on the back, upper arms and the buttocks and can take several grades of severity anything from minor pimples to more painful cysts, forming deep under the skin's surface. The most common form of body acne exists on the upper back.

Causes of back acne?

Most experts agree that back acne starts to occur around puberty when the sebaceous glands, which produce sebum, start functioning. When an excess of sebum is produced, pores and hair follicles can become clogged, attracting bacteria.  This is also a time when hormones are being produced in greater numbers causes in men a excess of testosterone which is a major trigger of body acne.

Stress, sweating and even genetics are causes of back acne. While there is no proof back acne is developed from tight clothing, excessive sweating  it is more then likely to invigorate this form of acne.

How to Treat Body Acne?

Body acne can be more of a persistent form of acne so using products designed specifically for body acne can help.  We believe that acne on the face needs to be more gently than body acne.  The skin on your back and shoulders can be treated by exfoliation and higher concentrations of  active ingredients.

To treat body acne:

Step 1 Wash the effected body acne area with ZENMED Botanical Body Acne Wash and let the skin dry.

Step 2 Follow up with ZENMED Botanical Acne Mask and Spot Treatment. A high grade Salicylic Acid and Citric Acid combination simultaneously penetrate the skin to help open up the clogged pores and soften the skin.

Step 3 (customer suggested) Some customers suggest using the Derma Cleanse capsules

For severe back acne, consult a dermatologist for prescription treatment. Cysts can be treated in the office.

How to Prevent Back Acne

Exfoliation is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells that tend to build up on the back, buttocks and back of the arms.
Balancing Rosacea Skin with the RIGHT products

Balancing Redness

It is important to tell the world about something I find disconcerting about Rosacea treatments.  I see many products both online and in stores being sold as treatments for Rosacea, a lot of the time these products are for acne.  Sometimes people get confused because of the proper name of Acne Rosacea that acne and Rosacea might be related.  They are both skin conditions and sometimes bumps can occur with Rosacea, but that is where the similarities end.

Since Fall is Skin Balancing month at ZENMED I thought it would be a good idea to talk about how Rosacea can improve from balancing your skin.  Treatments that work to treat Rosacea like acne are most likely stripping oil from your skin and to do this you need a drying product or ingredient.  Using a drying or stripping agent on Rosacea skin is like adding fuel to the fire, it will result in further irritating your already sensitive skin.  The best way to help red irritated skin is to calm it and then to support it with ingredients that will balance oil levels, balance pH, and eventually balance color of the skin.

Our Skin Support series of products work twofold as a Rosacea treatment: one to calm your skin and two support your skins appearance by constricting blood vessels near the surface of the skin. These blood vessels are responsible for the redness that is noticeable at the surface of the skin.

There is one last benefit of Skin Support which is the use of natural collagen boosters. Collagen networks within the skin are often weakened in people that suffer from Rosacea. These networks need to be maintained and strengthened and since they naturally weaken as you age, helping boost them is vital in preventing flare-ups and making the skin heal faster.

Remember to balance everything in your life especially your skin.
Best of Health
